Chinese startup ZUK, which is the wonder child of Lenovo, is preparing to release its very first smartphone, and the latest reports on the matter indicate that its launch will take place on July 21.

Even as the company systematically revealed most of the specs we should find on board its upcoming flagship, it has been pretty elusive about one thing - what operating system we’re going to see run on the device.

ZUK has talked on different occasions about the Z1 as coming with Android 5.1 Lollipop, but also with Cyanogen OS. Perhaps the company is looking to produce two different versions of the phone which will be released on different markets.

ZUK launching its first phone in 4 days

Anyway, we won’t have to wonder for long because, according to ZUK’s own Weibo page, the company is gearing up to launch the smartphone on July 21. Previous rumors claimed that ZUK’s first baby would arrive into the wild in August, but it appears that the company managed to ready things up ahead of schedule.

What are we to expect from the Z1? Well, we already know that the ZUK Z1 will pack a USB Type-C port, as well as a huge 4,000 mAh battery that will hopefully be able to keep the lights on for more than a day (it’s just wishful thinking at this point).

On top of that, ZUK has revealed that its first smartphone will be equipped with a Snapdragon chipset, but it has not mentioned exactly which version it decided to utilize. Although judging by the phone’s specs, we guess we’re going to see a Snapdragon 810 under the hood of the device.

The ZUK Z1 has also been confirmed to pack 3GB of RAM and either 16GB/32GB or 64GB of internal storage, which indicates that the smartphone will probably come without a microSD card slot.

The smartphone will also sport a 5.5-inch capacitive touchscreen display of unknown resolution (at least 1080p makes sense). On the back, the Z1 should house a 13MP photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording.

At some point, we also told you that the phone would feature a fingerprint scanner, so as you can see, the Z1 is shaping up to be quite a flagship.
