A downgrade version of the LePro3 flagship smartphone

Despite the fact that it has decided to shrink its smartphone business outside China, LeEco continues to launch new products on its home turf. The latest device announced by the Chinese company is called LeEco LePro3 Elite.

But don't let the name fool you, as the LePro3 Elite is rather a downgraded version of the standard LePro 3 model that's been released last year in many countries.

According to GizmoChina, the LePro3 Elite is now available for purchase in China for just $245. Customers can pick this one up at various retailers including LeEco Mall, Lynx, and Jingdong. It's only available in gold color.

As mentioned earlier, despite its pompous name, the LePro3 Elite comes with slightly lower specs than the LePro3. For example, the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor has been switched for the previous Snapdragon 820 model. Moreover, LeEco has removed NFC (Near Field Communication) support.

Unlikely to be available outside China

Thankfully, these are the only differences between the two LeEco high-end smartphones, aside from the price. Still, there's no reason to use the “Elite” tagline in the name of the new handset since it doesn't come with any improvements over the previous model.

The LeEco LePro3 Elite packs 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory, but there's no mention of microSD card slot for memory expansion. Also, the smartphone sports a large 5.5-inch display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution.

The main selling point of the LeEco LePro3 Elite could be the huge 4,070 mAh battery, which should provide at least 2 days of average usage. A 16-megapixel single-lens camera with LED flash and f/2.0 has been added too.

It's unclear what version of Android LeEco has added inside, but we doubt the phone will run Nougat right out of the box. It's also worth mentioning customers who purchase the LePro3 Elite will also receive 3 months of free membership access to LeEco's video streaming services.
