Aside from the Galaxy Note 6 and the new edition of Galaxy J2, Samsung will also be launching two smartphones in its new mid-range series. Rumors about the Galaxy C5 and C7 surfaced at the start of this year, and now images of the former have leaked online.

In mid-April this year, Geekbench scores for the Galaxy C5 leaked online, clearly showing some specs of the upcoming device. It was also said that Galaxy C5 would come with a sleek metallic design, and recently leaked pictures have confirmed the information.

Galaxy C5 will have a metal body, which, as images show, is quite similar to recent HTC phone releases, such as the HTC 10 or HTC Perfume. It is unclear if Samsung will provide options when it comes to the color of these phones.

The slim metallic design is similar to that of handsets in the Galaxy A series whereas the price range is the same as for the J series. The images also show that Galaxy C5 will be coming with dual tone LED flash on the back.

Galaxy C5, fit for mid-range needs

Geekbench scores revealed that the smartphone would have a 5.2-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which is higher than that of the Galaxy J2 released last year. Galaxy C5, dubbed SM-C5000 in tests, will be powered by Adreno 405 GPU graphics. Aside from this, it will come with Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor and a speed of 1.5GHz.

As expected, Galaxy C5 will run Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 out of the box, and speculation hints that Samsung might consider launching the Galaxy C7 at the same time, which would mean that the Korean company won’t be announcing the devices this month.

Development of the new C series started in April, but it is not yet known if the smartphone will be launched only in China or if it will be made available in other regions as well, such as North America, Europe and other parts of the world.
