14 DAY TRIAL // Sales for the HTC 10 have been less than satisfactory, which prompted Taiwanese company HTC to focus its attention on launching new devices to the market. A leakster on Twitter, @the_maligant, posted an image and some spec details on the upcoming HTC Desire 628. The smartphone will be part of the company’s mid-range Desire series.
Images show the design of the HTC Desire 628 will be similar to that of HTC Desire 830, with rounded edges and the plastic build. It appears to be surrounded from top to bottom by BoomSound speakers that have the ability to play 24-bit audio.
Allegedly, HTC Desire will come with a 5.0 inch 720p display and a battery of just 2200 mAh. The processor will be an Octa-Core, 64-Bit MediaTek MTK6753 clocked at 1.3GHz. It will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, with the option to expand using a microSD card. Rear camera capabilities will reach 13MPs, with f/2.0 aperture and BSI Sensor.
Spec details reveal that the HTC Desire 628 may be part of the company’s mid-range series, which also includes the HTC Desire 630, announced this February. The release date is unknown, but it will come with dual-SIM card support and a 5.0 inch display. It will also have quad-core Snapdragon 400, clocked at 1.6GHz and 2GB of RAM.
Scaled down version of the HTC Desire 830
The front camera on HTC Desire 628 will come with 5MP and the phone will support dual-SIM. Judging by the specs, the HTC Desire 628 won’t be much of an upgrade from the Desire 626 launched in February 2014. That model came with a similar display size and resolution, but the internal memory was considerably smaller of just 16GB. When it comes to camera capabilities, there are no differences between the two phones.
Still, the HTC Desire 628 seems to look like a scaled down version of the Desire 830 which was recently announced. There’s no information on the price as the phone has yet to be officially announced, but the smartphone is part of HTC’s mid-range series and should be quite affordable.
