Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 specifications got leaked today thanks to some internal slides presented by Microsoft Mexico to its employees, and it turns out that during the same training event, the company also revealed the brand new Lumia 550.

As you can see in the photo attached to this article and published online by WindowsStudio.mx, the slide shows both the Lumia 550 design and its specifications, so this is pretty much the closest look we get at this new device before it goes live.

Release information is not available right now, but it's believed that the Lumia 550 could be unveiled next month on the 6th, during the same hardware event when Microsoft will take the wraps off its new flagships.

Technical specifications

As far as specs are concerned, there's nothing too surprising here and the leaked slides confirm what we already knew from the previous reports that reached the web lately.

The device will come with a 5-inch HD display with Gorilla Glass 3 coating and will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor running at 1GHz. 1GB of RAM will also be offered, which should be enough to offer decent performance in Windows 10 Mobile.

It will come with a 5-megapixel rear camera with a LED flash and a 2-megapixel unit for selfies and video calls.

As for storage, Microsoft will offer 8GB of built-in storage, as well as support for microSD cards to increase space up to 128 GB.

No pricing details have been disclosed, but it's believed that Microsoft wants the Lumia 550 to tackle the budget model, so a price of around $100 is very likely to be offered. This is the very first device running Windows 10 Mobile that will be part of the new value phone category prepared by Microsoft, so expect Redmond to bet big on it in the fight against affordable Android handsets.
