Lumia 850 is very likely to be the next Windows 10 Mobile device that will be released by Microsoft, and now new evidence seems to point that the rollout is just around the corner.

NPU came across some Lumia 850 cases that are already available online and which confirm that such a device is already in the works, but for the moment, no official specs are available.

The photo you see here indeed reveals the case of Lumia 850, but the actual picture of the phone is nothing more than a rendering, so don’t take it for granted. It’s not the real phone, but just a concept to help you imagine what the case is going to look like on the phone.

Lumia 850 specs

The rumored Lumia 850 is believed to be a direct successor to the Lumia 830 and launch with Windows 10 Mobile to expand Microsoft’s portfolio in the mid-range business. In fact, Microsoft could use the very same strategy as for the 830 and market the 850 as an affordable flagship, so its price should be lower than the one of the Lumia 950 and 950 XL.

There are a lot of contradictory early specs of the Lumia 850 online, and while some sources claim it could launch with a 5-inch screen, others believe it could go as high as 5.5 or even 5.7 inches.

Most likely, the Lumia 850 will debut in the first quarter of 2016 as Microsoft is working to expand its Windows 10 Mobile device portfolio with new models as fast as possible. The device could see daylight after the operating system goes live for Windows Phone device owners, which according to people close to the matter, should happen in late January or early February.

Take everything with a healthy grain of salt for the moment, but expect more information on the Lumia 850 to emerge early in the New Year.
