Assassin’s Creed might be going to ancient Greece in its next installment, or at least this is what a very trustworthy leak revealed.

The Assassin’s Creed series has been all over the globe, and the games used numerous civilizations for its background. The latest title went all the way back to ancient Egypt, and it’s been a success for Ubisoft, signaling that players might be ready to love the franchise all over again.

Since the release of the first game in the series, back in 2007, the fans response dwindled somewhat, especially since Ubisoft branched out with a number of other titles and genres. The company sensed the fact that fans are no longer enjoying these titles, and basically relaunched the franchise with Assassin’s Creed Origins.

It might have the same name and some of the same mechanics, but’s it’s a different beast all together that resembles an RPG, more than anything else.

Going to Greece

According to a report on ComicBook.com from Liam Robertson, who was right about this type of stuff before, the game is going to Greece, for the first time. To be fair, there aren’t too many ancient civilizations left to explore, with the exceptions of Chinese and Japanese. There was an Assassin’s Creed set in China, but only as a short platformer.

It’s also quite likely that the gameplay mechanics introduced with Assassin’s Creed Origins will be kept, and most likely enhanced in various ways. The game is a success, and there is no reason to make changes once more.

There is no information about the exact time period, but Ubisoft has a penchant for adding famous people in their games, so we’ll probably meet Aristotle, Herodotus, and many others, even if they are not contemporary with the main character.

The new Assassin’s Creed will most likely launch in 2019, but for not Ubisoft has yet to confirm the rumors. In the meantime, you can check our Assassin’s Creed Origins review.
