14 DAY TRIAL // After receiving mixed reviews with the Xperia C5 Ultra last year, Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation Sony has been keeping itself busy and working on improving the flaws that made the smartphone quite unpopular among consumers. Leaked images on the new Sony Xperia C6 Ultra have surfaced, featuring a design that is similar to that of its predecessor.
Images show that the design for the Xperia C6 Ultra is roughly the same as that of its predecessor, with the exception of the rear camera, which was moved closer to the edge. The C6 Ultra will have a smoother design, with rounded and comfortable edges, as seen in the first leaked image from February.
It seems that the location of the shutter button is the same and the phone won’t be coming with USB Type-C port which will be more and more prevalent among devices that are expected to be launched in the next period of time.
Previous Sony devices came in a variety of different colors and visual textures that made them stand out from other products on the market. Devices in the Xperia series have come in chrome, turquoise, red and even purple, while the Xperia Z5 Premium had a fully reflective surface.
Not a flagship device, but a clear improvement to the C5 Ultra
The Xperia C5 Ultra was a fairly mid-range phone with impressive camera capabilities of 13 MP, both in the front and rear. The C6 Ultra will come with a definite improvement in this department, said to have 20MP rear-facing camera while the selfie snapper will have a performance of 16MP with LED flash. The downside of the C5 Ultra was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, known for overheating issues.
Sony will be launching a clear improvement, rumors point to a Full-HD display of 6 inches, MediaTek's octa-core MT6755 processor clocked at 1.9 GHz, clearly better than MT6752 of the Xperia C5 Ultra. It may also have 2GB and 16GB of expandable memory. The phone’s power requirements will be backed by a 3000 mAh battery.
