One of the world's largest smartphone markets, India is flooded with Android devices coming from native OEMs like Micromax, Lava, Intex, Karbonn, and many others.

Not a single day goes by without at least one of these companies to launch one or more products in India. Today, we will be talking about a recent addition to Lava Mobile's portfolio of Android smartphones, the A71.

Lava A71 is a budget-friendly smartphone that ships with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box. However, this is not the main selling point of the A71 but the promise that it will be upgraded to Android 6.0 Marshmallow at some point.

The Indian company announced Lava A71 is now available for purchase in India for just Rs 6,499 ($95 / €85) outright. However, you might be able to get it cheaper at Indiatimes Shopping, which offers the smartphone for just Rs 5,849 ($85 / €75).

It's also worth mentioning that the smartphone is available in both White with Gold and Silver with Blue color variants.

Decent 5-inch display with Corning Gorilla Glass, quad-core CPU

Spec-wise, Lava A71 looks exactly like an affordable smartphone, at least on paper. The device comes equipped with a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum 9830 processor, paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage that can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

Also, the A71 packs a 5-megapixel camera on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 2-megapixel camera in the front.

It comes with 4G LTE and dual-SIM support, but also includes connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, FM Radio, GPS with AGPS and microUSB 2.0.

Lava A71 sports a decent 5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display that supports HD (720p) resolution and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Last but not least, the budget-friendly smartphone is powered by a 2,500 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.
