The Manjaro development team announced on the last day of August that the eleventh maintenance update for the stable Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 operating system series is now available to users worldwide.

Prominent features of Manjaro Update 2015-08-31 (stable) for Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 include the addition of the recently announced KDE Plasma 5.4 desktop environment and KDE Applications 15.08 software suite, the LibreOffice 5.0.1 office suite, the Mozilla Firefox 40.0.3 web browser, as well as the proprietary Nvidia 352.41 graphics driver.

Additionally, the new update adds the stable Linux kernel 3.12.47 LTS and the last Release Candidate version of Linux kernel 4.2. The Maia theme received various small improvements, there were fixes to some OpenRC related packages, and the development version of the Calamares installer has been improved.

There are also various additional features added to the Octopi 0.7.1 and Pamac 2.4.1 graphical package managers, and Manjaro Update 2015-08-31 (stable) now includes all of the upstream security patches and updates from the Arch Linux software repositories as of August 31, 2015.

"It is always good to check for updated packages, even we don’t notify you about them. As usual people using our testing branch will help us to get snaps over to our stable branch almost smoothly," says Philip Müller on behalf of the Manjaro development team. "Please give us feedback and report any findings with this update."

With this new stable update, all Manjaro Linux 0.8.13 editions support the following Linux kernel packages: Linux kernel 3.10.87 LTS, Linux kernel 3.12.47 LTS, Linux kernel 3.13.11.25, Linux kernel 3.14.51 LTS, Linux kernel 3.16.7.16, Linux kernel 3.18.20 LTS, Linux kernel 3.19.8.5, Linux kernel 4.0.9, Linux kernel 4.1.6 LTS, as well as Linux kernel 4.2 RC8.
