The Monster Steam Summer Sale is coming to an end and only a few hours are left to get games with some important discounts. Here are just a few of the games that you should really try on Linux and that can be bought with big price cuts.

The big Steam Summer of 2015 brought a ton of Linux games, but that wasn't all that surprising. The number of titles with Linux support has increased tremendously in the past year, and we're now at a point where one in five games on Steam have support for the open source platform. To put that into perspective, it means that there are almost 1200 games right now running on Linux, and we're not even counting the ones that have been confirmed to land on Linux soon.

We've put together a short list of games that are Linux compatible, but you need to keep in mind that there are many more discounted right now. In fact, the majority of the Steam catalogue has significant price cuts, so it's most likely that the game you want will be cheaper for the next 10 hours.

Choosing a game is difficult

Civilization V: Complete Edition can now be bought with a huge 75% discount, and it incorporates all the DLCs released for it. It's actually a bargain, and the game has so much replayability that it's hard to see a reason why not to buy it.

Project CARS is not available on Linux as of yet, but the developers promised to release it in a few months. It's the best-looking car simulator right now, and it's 40% off. It doesn't matter if you buy it now. It counts as a Linux sale if you play it on Linux.

The Batman franchise is currently discounted, and it has Batman: Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition, Batman: Arkham City - Game of the Year Edition, and Batman: Arkham Knight. Some of you might notice that Batman: Arkham Origins is missing from that list, but we have no indication that it's coming to Linux anytime soon if ever.

The Talos Principle is an amazing puzzle game made by the same studio that brought the Serious Sam titles. The quality of this game surprised everyone, and it received very good users’ reviews. You can buy it now with a 66% discount.

We couldn't have passed the Borderlands franchise, which has two games with Linux support, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Both have ridiculous discounts and hours upon hours of gameplay.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year is currently listed as having only Linux support, but Feral Interactive is almost done with the porting process. It's available right now with a 50% price cut. The Linux port should land any day now.

Company of Heroes 2 is also a Windows game only, but not for long. It's also ported by Feral Interactive, although we don't know the release date. In any case, you can pick it up with a 75% discount.

The last one on our list is Grim Fandango Remastered, which is actually a remake of a rather old game. The initial title wasn't Linux compatible, but the current one is. You can't miss the chance of playing of the best point and click adventure games ever made.
