14 DAY TRIAL // As expected, the Kubuntu developers have just announced that the last Beta build in the Wily Werewolf development cycle is now available for download and testing, as part of today's Ubuntu 15.10 Final Beta releases.
According to the release notes, Kubuntu 15.10 Beta 2 is now powered by the recently released Linux kernel 4.2.1, the KDE Plasma 5.4.1 desktop environment, the KDE Applications 15.08.1 software collection, as well as KDE Frameworks 5.14. Also, the latest LibreOffice 5.0 office suite and Mozilla Firefox 41.0 web browser have been included.
"Plasma 5, the next generation of KDE's desktop has been rewritten to make it smoother to use while retaining the familiar setup. The fourth set of updates to Plasma 5 (current release, including the fixpack) is the default in this version of Kubuntu," reads the announcement. "Kubuntu comes with KDE Applications 15.08 containing all your favorite apps from KDE, including Dolphin."
Known issues for Kubuntu 15.10 Beta 2
Being a development release, Kubuntu 15.10 Beta 2 contains known, unresolved issues, among which we can mention a crash in Apport-KDE that occurs when attempting to report bugs, installation issues with the modemmanager 1.4.10-1 and kde-config-telepathy-accounts packages, missing kdepasswd, and a few others.

The final release of the Kubuntu 15.10 operating system is expected at the end of next month, on October 22, 2015, along with the final releases of the Ubuntu 15.10, Xubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu GNOME 15.10, Ubuntu MATE 15.10, Lubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu Kylin 15.10, Ubuntu Cloud 15.10, and Snappy Ubuntu Core 15.10.
