14 DAY TRIAL // It's been almost a month since Krita 3.1.3 minor update kicked off in May, and the time has come for you to update your favorite open-source digital painting utility to a brand new version that addresses some annoyances and fixes bugs.
Krita 3.1.4 is here as the latest bugfix and stability release of the popular application, which is loved by amateur and professional digital artists alike, and it's a recommended update for anyone using Krita 3.1.3 or a previous version from the Krita 3.1 series. It has been released for all supported platforms.
Krita 3.1.4 improves importing of some of the files created with the GIMP 2.9 series of the open-source and cross-platform image editor, despite the fact that GIMP 2.9's file format is not officially supported by Krita, and fixes a crash that could occur when attempting to quickly cycle through layers that contain a color tag.
It is no longer impossible to hide the template selector in the "New Image" dialog as hiding it will also hide the "Cancel" button in the respective dialog. Moreover, Krita 3.1.4 attempts to completely remove the macro recorder plugin, though the menu entries are still visible and will be removed in an upcoming update.

Being a bugfix release, Krita 3.1.4 also patches a crash that would occur when attempting to play an animation with the OpenGL option active, as well as another crash that could occur when trying to close the last view on the last document when it's still being modified.
Other than that, it looks like previews that are too small in the transform tool will no longer be scaled down to fix a rare crash, the tablet/screen resolution conflict dialog won't be opened multiple times anymore, and rendering animation frames should now work properly when the directory you’re trying to render to does not exist.
Krita 3.1.4 is now available for download from our website for GNU/Linux, macOS, and Microsoft Windows operating systems, where you'll find binaries for 32-bit and 64-bit installations, as well as the source tarball if you plan on compiling Krita yourself. Please update to Krita 3.1.4 as soon as possible!
