Konami confirms that it's aware of the recent issues that are plaguing its new Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain title, and in order to make things a bit more bearable, it's decided to disable some online aspects until everything is back to normal.

Metal G ear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has been a long time coming, and after a lengthy wait, millions of fans are jumping into the stealth experience made by Kojima Productions and Konami today, September 1, across PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. A day-one update, which takes the game to version 1.1, is already available for download on all platforms.

The Phantom Pain is suffering from some connection issues

Unfortunately for some players, the title's online servers are suffering from a few issues, and the actual connection to them seems to be pretty unstable.

Konami confirms on the official Twitter account that it's aware of these issues and that, until things return to normal, it's turning off some of the online aspects of the Phantom Pain in order to ease the burden on its servers and ensure that the FOB (Forward Operating Base) competitive multiplayer mode is at least marginally playable for all those who bought the game.

First up, the number of FOB missions displayed in the online mode has been decreased, although it's unclear by what percentage, as Konami isn't offering that specific detail just yet.

The information on the FOB mission list relating to win, losses, points, support, or heroism has also been eliminated, while the number of missions listed in the online Combat Deployment menu has also been lowered by an unknown percentage in order to make everything a bit more responsive.

Konami also mentions that it's going to turn things back to normal when the connection issues are remedied or when the rush of players subsides.

You can expect things to return to normal in the following hours or in the upcoming days.
