It looks like the Kodi developers can't stop implementing new features and fixing annoying bugs in the best open-source and cross-platform media server software ever created, Kodi (formerly XBMC Media Center).

The first RC (Release Candidate) build of the upcoming point release of Kodi 15 (Isengard) has been announced this past weekend, and it is available for download and testing to users worldwide. It promises to fix one of the most important issues for Android users, related to partial screen or zoomed in playback of video files. Additionally, it also addresses a playback problem on Android devices where the video stream was lost after fast-forwarding.

"Past week we provided some special builds on the forum which solved the problems for the users that had the zoomed in or partial screen using Kodi. As such we included these changes into the 15.2 RC build for every one to test and hopefully get their device working again. Secondly some playback problem popped up for many Android users where they lost video after fast-forward playback. This should now have been correct as well," reads the announcement.

There's now better support for Xbox controllers

In addition to the Android bugfixes mentioned above, Kodi 15.2 "Isengard" Release Candidate adds better volume adjustment support for Xbox controllers, fixes a crash on the Mac OS X 10.7 operating system that occurred when attempting to resolve hard disk drive names, repairs issues with empty LatestAlbum.Artist, fixes fallback for the Norwegian Bokmål language, and addresses an application freeze issue on Windows OSes when using the away mode.

Lastly, there's no more side flyout when touch is used, the taglib library has been updated to patch an application crash that occurred when attempting to play FLAC audio files, the default screen region has been set for DVB subtitles, some missing tag lyrics were added, and the time is now properly set when changing or setting regions. Download Kodi 15.2 RC right now from Softpedia. However, please keep in mind that this is a pre-release version, not suitable for production use.
