The development team at Bungie caused some consternation among fans of Destiny when it announced that it was not launching a new major raid at the same time as the coming The Taken King expansion, which is set to debut on September 15.

Since then, the company made it clear that all work on the King's Fall experience, which allows gamers to deal with the new boss Oryx, was completed and that it wanted to launch it as soon as possible.

The most recent live stream linked to The Taken King for Destiny has revealed that the company is planning to make the raid available to those who get the expansion on Friday, September 18, at exactly 10 AM Pacific Time, which is 6 PM Greenwich Mean Time.

The three days might give the community a chance to prepare for the tough fight by getting equipment and by leveling up their characters.

Bungie has also shown some gameplay linked to the King's Fall and says that this is the biggest battle that it has ever created, more demanding on players than both Vault of Glass and Crota's End.

Oryx is coming back to the solar system in order to take out Guardians who killed his son, and he brings a range of new enemies with him.

Destiny is preparing for The Taken King and update 2.0

Bungie has been offering a lot of information about the new content coming in the expansion, which is designed to offer a range of new end-game experiences to introduce more variety to the title.

Gamers will also get to visit the dreadnought that Oryx is travelling on, designed to offer environments that are very different from the planets the community has seen before.

The expansion also tweaks the way Guardians gain levels, with a bigger focus on experience, and gives them a wide range of new equipment to use in battles.

On September 8, Bungie will also deliver the 2.0 update for Destiny, designed to introduce a range of fixes and tweaks, including a big relabance for the weapons.

According to the studio, all the changes made are based on the feedback fans have offered since launch.

Today, the game will be down for maintenance for a six-hour period, with the developers offering no details on the changes they are planning to make.
