She will do “several” dances on the finale, as a surprise

Kim Zolciak’s stint on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars season 21 was very short-lived, not because she was voted off but because she had a mini-stroke that required surgery and revealed a heart condition. Producers decided she couldn’t continue on the show for medical reasons, as stipulated in the official rules for contestants.

Her exit was controversial because of reports that she had no idea she’d get the boot. Viewers at home also rooted for her and even started online campaigns to get her back on DWTS.

Their wish will be granted on the season finale, as a “surprise,” TMZ has learned. She won’t be allowed back on the competition, but she is coming back for one last hurrah next month.

She will do “several” routines for the big night, presumably with Tony Dovolani, her pro dancing partner, but only if her doctors say it’s ok for her to undertake such a massive physical challenge.

“Kim’s on board, despite being kicked off the show” and despite the fact that she’s not yet recovered, the celebrity publication says.

This is the best compromise producers could have come up with to give Kim’s supporters what they’ve been asking for, without having to break the competition’s rules. Her return is also bound to bring a boost in ratings, considering how much fuss was made over her unexpected exit.
