Last week, a man with a history of domestic violence and violent crimes, David Conley, shot and killed 8 people, including 6 underage children. One of the children was his own son, and he shot him in the back of the head, with a gun and ammo he had reportedly purchased online.

Conley is now facing the death penalty and is awaiting trial in a Houston jail cell. Reality star Kim Kardashian believes his case is proof for the need of stricter regulation for guns in America - and she’s pushing for it on social media.

Kim Kardashian makes a stand

Conley slipped inside the house through a window and then proceeded to methodically shoot and kill his on-and-off girlfriend, her common-law husband and 6 children, one of whom was his own. He then waited inside until police arrived, and was taken in after a gun fire exchange.

He’s been speaking to the media as he awaits trial, and his most controversial comment so far has been that he’s “only human after all.” He’s not saying he’s guilty, but he claims that the children were being raised like “monsters” and somehow deserved what had happened to them.

The story has received plenty of attention in the US media and it also made its way to reality star and businesswoman Kim Kardashian. It seemed to have shocked her so badly that she’s taking a stand for gun control on social media.

If you know Kim, you know that she usually avoids speaking out on hot-button issues, because she’s in it for the money, not to actually influence a change, one way or another.

The only time before she went on the record on such a topic was after she claimed she experienced discrimination on a flight to LA, and she penned an op-ed on racism in America.

Kim wants stricter gun laws

You can see her tweets on the issue of gun regulation below. She too is joining the rather long list of celebrities who push for stricter regulation on guns, including background checks on those who wish to purchase firearms.

What seems to bother her the most is the fact that this man who had such a shocking history of violent behavior was able to buy a gun online, without anyone doing a background check on him. Had there been a law to mandate that, the 8 people whose lives he took might still be around.
