14 DAY TRIAL // Kim Kardashian is mainly responsible for the fact that the Kardashian-Jenners are now a thing in the celebrity landscape. Had it not been for the 2007 leak of her adult tape, which led to E!’s decision to give them a reality show, our world would have been Kardashian-free right now.
For years, Kim was the most famous and most popular from the family, but her crown is slipping. A couple of months ago, younger half-sister beat Kim at her own game, when an Instagram photo she posted (below) got more likes than Kim’s wedding photo with Kanye West. And Kendall wasn’t even doing anything in particular in the shot.
Kim is jealous, will not let them appear more popular
A short while ago, Kim boasted of “waking up” to 40 million followers, which put her ahead in the race against Kendall. Radar Online says that she got over 3 million followers in just one week, which is super-strange because no Kardashian (or Jenner) ever got more than 1 million on either Twitter or Instagram in 1 month.
An insider confirms the strangeness of it, adding that Kim must be buying followers to make herself appear more popular. Apparently, she’s livid that Kendall, who, in her mind, would have been no one without her, got more attention than she did on her big wedding day to Kanye.
“Kim has been really bothered by the fact that some of her family members, specifically Kendall, are catching up to her in terms of social media followers. She’s jealous and she is not having it at all,” says the tipster. “Her jealousy is just pathetic. But Kim buys anything she wants and her social status is not something that she is ever going to be willing to compromise.”
Being outshone must sting
Kim Kardashian has a lot of “accomplishments” in her resume (writer, fashion designer, businesswoman), but the reality of it is that she’s just a woman who’s selling herself, her image and her private life for attention. And money, obviously.
All the other women in the family do the same, with one notable exception: Kendall is a model. She too claims she’s an author and a fashion designer, but it’s a well-known fact that she only slaps her name on the products she puts out.
Even if she got her first modeling gig because of her famous last name and her family’s connections in the industry, Kendall is a model. She actually does something real for a living, so one might argue that she has every right to be more popular than Kim.
Knowing that she’s being outshone by the only member of the family who is different and has more credibility outside of showbiz than Kim will ever have must sting like hell.
