Ironically, he’s just had his 35th invasive procedure

Valeria Lukyanova, the Ukrainian model who goes by the moniker Human Barbie, is being challenged again. After her well-publicized spat with Ken Doll Justin Jedlica, another aspiring Ken Doll is going straight for her blonde extensions in a new interview with Us Magazine.

Rodrigo Alves is a 31-year-old man from London who just had his 35th surgical intervention. That’s the ironical part, because he’s criticizing Lukyanova in the interview for being an “unrealistic” role model for girls, by re-packaging herself as a real-life Barbie doll.

Lukyanova is bad, whereas he will help people

The gist is that, of course, Alves is promoting something: he’s just landed his own reality show, where he’ll be tracking down “plastic surgery devotees” and give them makeovers, the celebrity publication notes.

Before you think that this sounds awfully familiar to all those other makeover shows, it’s not: Alves says he’ll be using his experience with plastic surgery to counsel these people before they actually go through the makeover.

He’s doing them a service, in a way, because he knows first-hand what happens when you rush into plastic surgery as if it were as easy and safe as clipping your nails. The show will premiere in early 2016.

On the other hand, there’s Lukyanova, a woman with unnatural proportions and even more unnatural facial features, who also claims that the only plastic surgery she’s had is a breast augmentation intervention.

She’s bad for the world, because she proposes a model of female beauty that simply can’t exist, Alves argues.

“I don't think she represents anything positive in society. She has a look that's not achievable to anyone! How can someone like that be a positive role model?” he says. “Imagine girls who look at her and want to achieve that - they'll endure starvation, get plastic surgery procedures.”

A fortune spent on plastic surgery

It seems as if Alves is implying that he’s a better role model than Lukyanova because at the very least he’s honest about the work he’s had done, whereas she claims she’s natural.

Justin Jedlica, who’s also spent a fortune on shaping himself into a real-life version of Ken (he calls it an “investment” because his body is like a “work of art”), used the same argument: by lying, Lukyanova is the worst role model possible.

Speaking of “investing” in surgery, Alves spent about $325,000 (€298,378) on enhancing his looks, as of the time of writing. He claims that many of his surgeries were necessary, to fix the damage from previous, uninspired interventions.

This is exactly the kind of mistakes he’s hoping to prevent others from making, thanks to his upcoming show.
