The first film produced by the California Highway Patrol

Many of us kids of the ‘90s like to pretend that the 1997 hilariously bad “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” claiming to be a sequel to the 1994 classic “Speed,” never happened. Keanu Reeves is probably one of us.

“Speed” starred Keanu and Sandra Bullock in the roles that would later put them on the map and propel them to A-list status. It may not have been exactly Oscar material (depending on whom you ask, of course), but it was a solid action movie - and a product of the times.

“Cruise Control” was a shameless and very obvious money grab that didn’t even star the original stars.

Keanu Reeves righted that wrong with his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, by delivering a first taste at what would make a better “Speed” sequel than “Cruise Control.” It’s called “A Reasonable Speed” and it’s all about the merits of following rules, especially when on the road.

You can see the faux trailer below. It comes with such hilarious pull-quotes as “the first film ever produced by the California Highway Patrol” and the most awful wig you’ve ever seen on Kimmel.

Fans know that Keanu doesn’t do TV appearances that often, or for that matter, public ones. He’s one of the most media-shy celebrities out there but that didn’t stop him from building a reputation as the nicest guy in Hollywood.

What I’m saying is that even though he’s not out much, when he does do something, Keanu makes sure it’s awesome. Enjoy!
