Plasma 5.4.1 has been released by the KDE Community, and the KDE desktop has received a number of smaller changes and a few bigger improvements.

The KDE project is proud to present the new version of their Plasma desktop, which is actually the first maintenance version for this branch. In fact, KDE Plasma 5.4 was made available to great acclaim just a couple of weeks back, and developers have been quick to correct some of the issues that have been noted by the community.

Don't expect to see any major changes made to the KDE Plasma, since this is a maintenance release, but some of the fixes are pretty important, like the fact that compiling with GCC 5 now works again. Also, the Autostart desktop files are no longer saved to the wrong location, and in Muon, the install button has a defined size.

Plasma 5.4.1 will land soon in a repo near you

If you already have the KDE Plasma 5.4 desktop in your distro, the odds are that you are going to get the new update pretty soon.

"Today KDE releases a bugfix update to Plasma 5, versioned 5.4.1. Plasma 5.4 was released in August with many feature refinements and new modules to complete the desktop experience. This release adds a month's worth of new translations and fixes from KDE's contributors. The bugfixes are typically small but important," reads the announcement.

According to the changelog, the rendering of disabled radio buttons in menus has been fixed, the name of kickerdash applet service file has been corrected, kdesu is now used instead of pkexec, and the default email client is now saved into the group.

As usual, you can download KDE Plasma 5.4.1 source package if you want to compile it yourself, but it would be a better idea to get it from the official repos of your distribution.
