Report claims Katy Perry will be releasing a Taylor Swift diss track called “Crocodile Tears”

Rumors that Katy Perry was working on a new track that would diss Taylor Swift and thus deliver her response to the hit “Bad Blood,” which Taylor wrote and recorded when their friendship went bust, have been around for a long time.

So far, nothing has come out of these reports, but it shouldn’t be long now: Hollywood Life reports that Katy is determined to stick to her initial plan, of exposing Taylor via song, and that she’ll be doing so on a track called “Crocodile Tears.”

The crocodile tears would be the tears Taylor “cried” in the 2014 Rolling Stone interview, in which she said she’d written a song about a former girlfriend who had tried to stab her in the back by hiring her backup dancers from under her, smack in the middle of an arena tour.

Obviously, Taylor never named any names, but she could have only been talking about Katy because there were too many pieces in the puzzle that matched for them to be simple coincidences.

Well, Katy is ready to fight back now. She hates it that Taylor got to tell her sob story first, especially since it’s not true, and she hates it that she got to play victim for such a long time.

“As far as Katy was concerned, Taylor’s claim was bogus and Katy had nothing to do with the hiring of those dancers,” a spy tells the tab. “Katy felt Taylor was trying to make her look bad by saying such things, and paint her as the villain. Taylor came out with ‘Bad Blood’ - a song about that infamous incident, and now it’s Katy’s time to share her side of events.”

Unfortunately, the report doesn’t mention a release date.
