This time, they’re determined to play things closer to the vest, after being burned badly for turning their romance into a media spectacle.
Katy and John are definitely back on again
As noted above, in January, rumors started making the rounds that the two had gotten back together. They were confirmed a short while later, when paparazzi photos found their way online and were followed, as usual, by speculation on how badly this rekindled romance was fueling the feud with former best friend turned rival Taylor Swift.
The Daily Mail has even more photos of the two this weekend, confirming that whatever they have, it’s still going strong.
They attended a concert by The Grateful Dead and watched the fireworks display afterwards, and though they weren’t in full “celebrity mode,” they still didn’t make visible efforts to go by unnoticed.
In fact, they even posed for photos with fans, and said pics were posted on social media. They only avoided appearing in the same photo together, but that wasn’t enough to keep the status of their relationship a secret.
They can’t quit each other
A couple of months ago, a report in a US glossy claimed that John and Katy simply couldn’t quit each other. It wasn’t love, a spy was quoted as saying: it was passion and desire, both of the uncontrollable kind.
On the downside, their busy work schedules made it impossible for them to stay together like a regular couple, so whenever one was on the road, the other was freaking out at home.
Apparently, John isn’t exactly comfortable with the fact that Katy is a bigger star than he is, and she has serious trust issues and is on pins and needles whenever he’s on the road, imagining him sleeping with all his groupies.
So, the spy said, they had reached an agreement: be together whenever and for however long they could be in the same place at the same time.
In other words, either this new batch of photos is confirmation that they’re just fine being on and off, or it’s proof that they’re in love and have been together as a solid couple at least since January. The latter version would probably delight their fans more, because that it would mean it was true love.
