14 DAY TRIAL // As per her own words, Kate Gosselin is unlucky in love, in the sense that she has a very hard time finding a man who would take on the challenge of being in a relationship with her, especially since she also brings in so much luggage: her 8 children with ex-husband Jon Gosselin. Things aren’t showing any signs of improving.
She’s just been dumped by millionaire Jeff Prescott, whom she’d been dating since January this year. ET Online confirms the split and says that he chose a younger woman over Kate. The reality star and mom of 8 is said to be “devastated.”
Kate Gosselin got dumped, is heartbroken
Issues between the two had emerged some time before the actual split, as Kate would often complain that Prescott spent too little time with her. As COO and co-founder of Dreamstime, he would be constantly traveling the world, and Kate couldn’t accompany him because of the kids and her commitments to the TLC reality show she’s shooting.
The show also proved a problem because producers thought they could turn the romance into a great storyline, which Prescott initially agreed to. Then, 2 days before he was supposed to be on set in New York, after months of talks and preparations, he backed out, citing privacy concerns.
He likes to keep his life private (and his kids’ too), and couldn’t find a middle ground with Kate, who has made a name for herself as a reality star and is obviously OK with having camera crews and paparazzi tailing her all day.
The worst part of it is that he found someone else who is on the same wavelength as him: a 26-year-old woman from Belarus with whom he’s already been spotted around Hawaii and Las Vegas.
According to insiders, Kate thought she and Prescott “had a connection” and would have never imagined he’d dump her for a younger woman. His informing her they were over completely took her by surprise and she is “devastated.”
Rumors of an engagement
Gosselin and Prescott were first romantically linked in January this year. In May, they were spotted on a romantic date in Philadelphia, and a detailed account of the date emerged online.
It also said that, by the time, Prescott had already met and bonded with Kate’s 8 kids and that he seemed determined to expand his family by marrying her.
In June, Kate stepped out for a press event rocking a giant diamond ring on her engagement finger. Considering the reports that she and Prescott were in love and talking marriage, the media assumed that he had popped the question and that wedding bells were in the future for them.
She later denied the rumors, saying she wasn’t even dating anyone, let alone consider walking down the aisle again. This was seen as more of a PR move than actually speaking the truth, because she’d built her entire TV career on the image of her as a single and often-struggling mother of 8.
