Kaspersky has released an updated version of their antivirus product for Android devices that comes with a built-in feature that lets users get reports from their AV right on their smartwatch, and then send back actions to take.

With the proliferation of smartphones and smartwatches among tech-savvy users, it was pretty obvious that the connection between these two could be leveraged to create a better security model for handheld devices.

The latest version of the Kaspersky Internet Security for Android suite now features an option to pair a mobile that runs the security app with a smartwatch and use it as a control center.

Users can select to receive notifications on their smartwatch whenever a threat is detected on the device. They can then tell the phone to quarantine the virus, remove it, start a scan, and even initiate a virus database update.

Besides anti-malware features, the app also features tools to control the phone from afar, by filtering out calls and messages, and even hiding personal data in case of theft.

Additionally, users that have paired the two devices can use the smartwatch to access the Find Phone feature and recover misplaced or lost devices by triggering a loud alarm on the phone from their smartwatch.

The new version of Kaspersky Internet Security for Android is already available on the Google Play store. Only Android Wear watches are supported.
