New tests reveal best security products for business users

Kaspersky topped the latest AV-TEST antivirus tests for Windows 10 home users, and now it looks like the company is getting the crown for business customers as well, according to new results from the German institute.

Security software developed by Kaspersky got the maximum points in a new series of tests on Windows 10 Enterprise, but the top product certification was received by several other products, including those from Bitdefender, Symantec, and Sophos.

Specifically, both Kaspersky Endpoint Security and Kaspersky Small Office Security received the maximum 18 points after getting 6 out of 6 points in protection, performance, and usability tests.

Bitdefender’s Endpoint Security, Sophos Endpoint Security and Control, Symantec Endpoint Protection, and Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud also got pretty close with an overall score of 17.5 points, while the worst performer was Microsoft’s System Center Endpoint Protection, which achieved only 15 points.

Windows 10 Enterprise also coming with rich set of security features

While third-party security products are particularly important especially in the enterprise, Windows 10 Enterprise also comes with a long list of security features to protect customers against not only malware infections but also exploits and other threats that otherwise might not be blocked by an antivirus app.

Microsoft itself bragged about the mitigation systems implemented in Windows 10, explaining that some zero-day attacks were blocked without the company delivering a patch.

On the other hand, with Microsoft System Center Endpoint Protection scoring so low in the tests, IT decision makers might again decide to look somewhere else for anti-malware protection, as third-party products seem to perform substantially better in all these tests.

As a general practice, all Windows 10 users should keep their systems updated to make sure the latest exploits are blocked, and avoiding clicking on links or files coming from untrusted sources always helps stay away from malware that could compromise the computer.
