As per his own admission, Kanye West isn’t just the “greatest rock star alive on the planet right now,” but also a consummate artist, a genius like no other in the entertainment landscape. In this context, it makes sense for him to debut a new music in a museum.
The “All Day” official music video actually screened in Paris earlier this year, which is when the footage posted to social media and embedded below emerged. However, it is yet to get an official wide release.
This will come, according to Billboard, this Saturday, July 25, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. The video will be called “All Day / I Feel Like That,” because it will also feature new music from the rapper, who is now working on a new album, believed to drop later this year.
“All Day” was directed by Oscar-winning Steve McQueen (“12 Years a Slave”) in a single take, and features only Kanye running through abandoned spaces, while rapping and gesturing at the camera. The end sees him propped up against a wall, in an attitude apparently of defeat.
The report doesn’t say whether “All Day” will get a wide release after the museum premiere, but it’s taken for granted by trade publications and fans alike.
