Josh Duggar has retired from the public eye, checking himself into a rehabilitation facility after the latest scandal to rock the once-successful and of spotless reputation Duggar family, ex-stars of TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting.

Earlier this year, older police records revealed Josh had molested 5 minor girls when he was just a teen. A few days ago, his name came up in the Ashley Madison Leak, and he admitted to having 2 different paid accounts on the cheating website.

Just yesterday, an exotic dancer and adult actress came out of the woodwork to claim she’d slept with Duggar on 2 separate occasions, and that both experiences had been equally “terrifying,” though he was very generous with his money at the end.

Josh checks into rehab, no one knows what for

Some hours ago, just as the woman’s story was spreading like wild fire online, bringing with it harsher criticism on the Duggars, the family issued a statement on Josh.

They also explained why he hadn’t said anything in light of the new accusations: he was in rehab, so we won’t be hearing anything from him for a while, presumably a minimum of 30 days.

You can see the Duggars’ statement in full below: they express their sadness and disappointment caused by Josh’s actions and they promise he’s committed to making his way back to “wholeness.” Meanwhile, they will be with his wife Anna and their 4 children, who need all the counseling they can get to accept and move on from his betrayal.

Earlier reports were saying that Anna would not divorce Josh, even though, in less than 3 months, she found out that he was both a child molester and a cheater, and that she might even try to absorb some of the blame. Then, sources revealed that she was completely cut off from the rest of the world, including her own family, and she only spoke to members of the “Duggarville.”

That last part confirmed that she would, indeed, stand by the man who had betrayed her trust in so many ways.

Josh is probably at a real addiction treatment center

The Duggars don’t offer the slightest clues about Josh’s whereabouts, which is to be expected. When he was caught repeatedly molesting his own sisters when he was a teen, his parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, sent him away for the summer to a construction camp with a friend of the family.

They would later claim that he had received proper counseling and treatment there.

This time, it seems that they really took him to a proper addiction treatment center, if Gawker is correct. Josh’s younger brother is a license pilot and has a plane to use whenever he needs it.

“On the night of August 24, the Duggars made a trip from Springdale, Arkansas to Rockford, Illinois at 10:45 p.m. [and] stayed [there] for less than ten minutes before turning around and heading right on back to Springdale,” the report says.

Clearly, they were on a drop-off mission. The Christian-based addiction facility Reformers Unanimous (RU), with which the Duggars have worked before, is right in that area, so chances are they dropped Josh off there in the dead of night, and returned home to deal with the fallout of his mistakes.
