14 DAY TRIAL // It we’re to believe reports online and in the tabloid media, with the exception of the two times when she was pregnant, Jessica Simpson is a boozehound. This year alone, she made headlines on 2 different occasions for appearing completely intoxicated, once on a night out with her husband (which was excusable) and the other on a red carpet (which was not).
Right now, Twitter is abuzz with even more speculation, after her scheduled 2-hour live appearance on the Home Shopping Network, to promote her new line of fashion and accessories. As you can see in the video below, she slurred her words, giggled uncontrollably and swayed visibly throughout the entire thing.
At one point, her mother stepped in, apparently to undo some of the damage that she knew Jessica was causing with her erratic behavior. Based on viewers’ tweets, samples of which you will find below, it didn’t help.
In between acting strangely on camera, Jessica slipped on and off the set without a word, tried to explain how jeans work and, most of the time, seemed unable to describe her own line, which she’s supposed to have been involved in creating every step of the way.
Reactions on social media range from cracking jokes (this is the funniest HSN has ever been!) to criticizing (HSN should be ashamed for not putting her off the air) and downright outraged (this is an outrage!).
