Jesse James is still blaming ex-wife Sandra Bullock for the way their breakup, which was caused by the fact that he got caught and exposed as a serial cheater, played out in the media. In a new interview, the TV personality praises himself for the way he owned up to his mistakes and laments the “unfair” treatment he got in the media and at home.

As for the “hardest” part about the split, he says that is, without a doubt, losing his “son” Louis, the baby boy he and Sandra had filed adoption papers for shortly before the cheating scandal broke in the spring of 2010.

Jesse James speaks out on Bullock split after 5 years

Jesse James sat down for a chat for the In Depth with Graham Bensinger show (video is available at the link), and an entire segment of the interview focused on his split from Sandra Bullock, aka America’s Sweetheart on whom he cheated with a series of tattoo models / glamor girls.

The revelation came shortly after Bullock won an Oscar for Best Actress for her role in “The Blind Side” and after they had secretly started the adoption proceedings for Louis, whom Sandra finally adopted as a single parent.

James expresses regret at having cheated on his then-wife and admits that his behavior was inexcusable, but at the same time, he talks himself up for owning up to the affair and not denying it, even though that’s what his publicists told him to do.

In reality, if you recall, when one of his mistresses came forward with her account, which blew the cover on his double life, he was left with no other course of action but to come clean.

Losing his “son”

James says that he came to terms quickly with the fact that his marriage was over, because he understood that what he’d done could not simply be swept under a rug.

However, he didn’t find it that easy to accept losing his “son” and he continues to blame Hollywood (and Bullock indirectly) for it.

“The painful part was about Louis, who we adopted. As bad as stuff was between us, we adopted a kid and things got kind of good for a little while and we had that kid to focus on, and, boom, it was over in 24 hours - gone, done,” he says. “I got divorced and lost a kid I adopted because of it. Whether that’s fair, whether I should have lost a kid due to infidelity, which I don’t think anybody ever does. But I think with ‘Hollywood Law’ that’s totally fair.”

Blaming Bullock, beating up paparazzi

In the same interview, Jesse James once more blames his ex for some of the treatment he received in the media post-divorce. Some time after the cheating scandal blew over, James found himself again in the headlines when photos of him in Nazi gear, doing the Nazi salute emerged online.

He denied he was Nazi sympathizer, just like he does now, in this interview. The one person who could have spoken up in his defense was Bullock and she and her publicists chose to throw him under the bus out of spite, he says.

Jesse James also reveals how he got even with the paparazzi who pretty much ran him out of California, beating them up under the cover of darkness or running them off the road. He calls it “fair game” and laughs that the only thing you have to be careful about is not to have them see your face, because then you risk getting sued.
