Before they announced the end of their 10-year marriage, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner had already decided they would continue living under the same roof after the divorce went through. It was, they believed, the best way to keep their family together.

The plan was, according to People Magazine, to renovate the Los Angeles home and to accommodate Ben in one of the adjoining guest houses, which would receive an overhaul. That was before word got out that he cheated on her with the children’s nanny, 28-year-old Christine Ouzounian, and it turned into the biggest celebrity cheating scandal of the year.

Jennifer doesn’t want Ben around anymore

It is believed that Garner decided to file for divorce when she found out that Ben had slept with his mistress, the nanny, on a family vacation to the Bahamas, when they were supposed to try one last time to see if they could still save their marriage.

So Jennifer’s latest decision, to not share the same house with him after they’re divorced, has nothing to do with finding out, because she already knew. It has to do, instead, with having it out in the open.

Jennifer was hoping the split would be amicable and drama free, for the sake of the children and because she doesn’t like stories in the tabloids about her private life. However, when the nanny went to the glossies and sold her story, that changed the plan because, suddenly, the Garner-Affleck divorce was on everybody’s mind.

“Jen will always make sure that Ben spends as much time with the kids as he wants,” says a source. “But she is rethinking their living situation. She can't stand the situation Ben has put her and the kids in.”

This isn’t about getting even with Ben in any way, but rather about removing him from their life because of the drama he will bring with him. For his part, he’s been denying any kind of romantic involvement with the nanny, claiming all those reports are lies.

With all this, the split is relatively amicable

With all this, the report continues, Ben and Jennifer are in a much better place now than they were a couple of months ago.

They have understood that they must make compromises for the sake of the children, and are determined to put everything else in their life aside for them to have a smooth transition to the new life.

The only exception is that Jennifer doesn’t want to live in the same house with Ben anymore; but their focus remains the children.
