14 DAY TRIAL // Since Janet Jackson has a new album and a new tour scheduled for 2015, she couldn’t have missed the chance to make her comeback in the spotlight at last night’s BET Awards 2015. This was Janet’s first public appearance in 2 years, and it turned out to be for a very memorable occasion.
She is now the proud owner of the Ultimate Icon: Music Dance Visual Award, presented to her after a beautiful dance tribute by Ciara, Jason Derulo and Tinashe.
The BET Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and managed to get the elusive Janet to make a rare public appearance. You can see video of the dance tribute below, as well as one of her sweet acceptance speech.
Janet’s mother and father were also in attendance and seemed very moved when she thanked them for their love and support throughout the years. She also thanked the fans for being by her side through thick and thin.
“It’s been a very long journey. My heart is so full,” she also said (this part isn’t included in the video). “Thank you God for making everything possible.”
Janet’s tour is called “Unbreakable,” but the album it’s in support of has not been named officially yet. Rumor has it that it will be called “Conversations in a Café.” The leading single, released last week, is a moody R&B track called “No Sleep,” which she dedicated to her love, husband Wissam Al Mana.
