Needless to say, this is quite an expensive device, but this won’t matter too much for the majority of buyers, as analysts have estimated, with sales to increase to record figures in 2018 when production reaches the maximum speed and Apple makes enough units available for customers across the world.
But have you ever wondered how much it costs to use an iPhone X every day? Or how expensive it is to even touch the device? Luke Wroblewski did, and according to an infographic he posted on Twitter and based on Apple statistics, the average cost of using the device per day is $3.14.
iPhone users unlock their devices 80 times a day
The estimates are calculated using numbers offered by Apple, as the Cupertino company said earlier this year that on average customers unlock their iPhones approximately 80 times per day. Furthermore, iPhones record 2600 touches per day, 5.7 unlocks per hour, and 32 touches per use.
This leaves us with a $.04 cost per phone open and given the 32 touches per use, with a $.0012 cost per touch. It goes without saying that once you own the iPhone X, you can touch it as often as you want because no extra cost is involved, but if you reach the average stats, that’s pretty much the cost of each touch included in the final cost of the device.
The iPhone X will be able in just two different storage versions with either 64GB or 256GB and pricing will be $999 and $1149, respectively. Pre-orders will kick off on October 28, while shipments will start on November 3, though people close to the matter hinted that a new delay could be announced in the coming weeks.
Apple hasn’t yet announced the first markets to get the new phone, but in the US, in addition to the Apple Store, all the major carriers will sell the iPhone X with special plans.
