Some Windows insiders say it is and ask for changes

Microsoft is bringing back the Start menu in Windows 10, but with a twist: the old and familiar look that we've seen in Windows 7 is still there but in a slightly different form, now accompanied by live tiles borrowed from the Windows 8 Start screen.

The Start menu altogether has been revamped to look and feel modern and fresh, so the version we'll get in Windows 10 is supposed to get in line with the operating system and offer not only a new appearance but also features to make it easier to work with installed software.

And yet, some users believe that the Start menu is too complicated in Windows 10 and ask Microsoft to make it easier to find the programs that you are looking for.

In a post submitted via the Feedback app in Windows 10, which has already received nearly 1,000 votes in just two weeks, users say that “the Start menu is too complicated. Scrolling through programs is tedious and should be more streamlined.”

Searching and customization features

Indeed, scrolling through the installed apps could be a little bit more difficult now in Windows 10, because both desktop and Modern apps are displayed together in the same place, but Microsoft tried to prevent this with several other features.

First and foremost, there's the search feature, so you only need to launch the Start menu and start typing the name of the program you wish to find. Secondly, you can customize the live tiles and pin your favorite or the apps you access the most to the Start menu. And third, you can organize live tiles in groups that make it easier to find the program you're looking for.

Only time will tell if the new Start menu is the one that users expected in Windows 10, but for the moment, some people are still complaining, so it's pretty clear that Microsoft can't please everyone with its overhauled operating system.
