You can finally (try to) secure Apple’s anniversary iPhone

Apple fanboys, rejoice! The iPhone X is finally available for pre-order, so you can at least try to secure the anniversary model right now at either Apple or your carrier.

The iPhone X is the most exciting Apple product release in a long time, and the device comes with a substantial upgrade over all the other models currently available for purchase, starting with the OLED bezel-less screen and ending with facial recognition.

At the same time, the iPhone X is also the most expensive iPhone to date, as the top-of-the-range configuration with 256GB storage sets you back no less than $1,149.

What’s important to know is that supply is very likely to be super-constrained at first, which means that if you don’t hurry up, you might not be part of the first iPhone X batch. This, in turn, means that instead of getting the iPhone X on November 3 when shipments officially start, you might have to wait a little bit longer until Apple makes more units available, though no specifics are available in this regard.

Analysts have estimated the iPhone X production to reach the desired pace in November, so more units should hit the market in December and January, with bigger sales (and consequently faster shipping) to take place in early 2018.

Get an iPhone X from the Apple Store

Apple promises that Apple Store walk-in customers would be able to secure their iPhone X on November 3, but the company also says that whoever wants to do that should come in early.

In other words, if you do pre-order an iPhone X right now and your shipment time is pushed back because of the said constrained supply, you can always head over to an Apple Store on November 3 and get one yourselves.

Apple doesn’t typically provide too much information on shipping times, other than the estimate you get when ordering an iPhone, so it’ll all be quite a struggle to get an iPhone X as soon as possible. Also, Apple no longer shares first-weekend sale figures, and this means we won’t know how successful the iPhone X is and how many units were pre-ordered in the first days of availability.
