Catch ‘em all (with a catch) on Apple’s iPhone

If you’re into Pokemon Go and want to catch ‘em all as fast as possible, you’ve probably already searched the web for cheats and other dirty tricks that could help you discover and hunt rare Pokemon while sitting on your couch.

That’s certainly not how it’s meant to be played (but who are we to judge anyway?), so if you’re on iPhone and playing Pokemon Go, you can try the best cheat every created since… July 5, when the game was first launched.

Now, before anything else, the typical advisory: cheating can get you banned, and in most of the cases, this is what happens. Android users have tried mocking their locations, and they got soft banned (no Pokemon show up on their maps), and there’s no doubt that Niantic would do the same thing on iPhone if it discovers anything fishy for some players.

Jailbroken iPhone needed

This cheating method involves a jailbroken iPhone, so it’s a good thing that Pangu has only recently announced a new jailbreaking tool for the latest versions of iOS, including 9.3.

Once you install the hack (you can check the video below for full instructions), you’ll be provided with some on-screen buttons in Pokemon Go that allow you to move the character around on the map, as you’d normally walk on the street with your phone in hand.

This way, Pokemon Go is tricked into thinking that you’re the one moving and hunting Pokemon, as the cheat is also faking the location as you move around. There are several controls, and you can even speed up your moves, in order to replicate the typical moves that a human being would do when walking.

We’re not saying that this is fair-play, and we’re not encouraging you to do it (heck, we’re not using it either!), so don’t blame us if you get soft banned. The creators of the cheat claim it’s impossible for this to happen, so if you put your trust in what they say, just give it a try.

Thanks for the tip, Jer! (we guess...)
