It’s all but confirmed right now, as another source is pointing to September 12 as the day when Apple will take the wraps off the new iPhone 8.

Marking the 10th anniversary of Apple’s flagship product, the iPhone 8 (often referred to as iPhone X) will be one of the biggest overhauls in many years, with leaks pointing to a glass body, facial recognition, no-bezel display, and wireless charging among the highlights.

As a result, it’s not surprising that it’s one eagerly-anticipated product that could help Apple finally become the first one trillion dollar company, according to analyst forecasts.

Now Benjamin Geskin, who has a good track on Apple leaks so far, reveals that British carrier O2 has been informed that September 12 is the iPhone 8 unveiling date. During the same keynote, Apple is also expected to present the more subtly-improved iPhone 7s and 7s Plus, as well as a new Apple Watch and a 4K Apple TV.

Going on sale on September 22

If the information is accurate, then the iPhone 8 could become available in stores on September 22 after previously going up on pre-order on September 15. The timing does make sense, as Apple typically begins the pre-orders for new iPhones in the first Friday after the keynote, while sales to kick off one week later.

Apple itself is expected to confirm the September 12 date in press invites that it should be sending out this week, though more details about what to expect during the event won’t be provided.

Rumor has it that the iPhone 8 might not hit the shelves this month, or if it does, to become available in rather limited volumes. This model has experienced several supply issues, especially in terms of displays, as Apple held back the start of mass-production due to the uncertainty caused by the fingerprint sensor.

The company eventually decided to give up on Touch ID entirely and focus exclusively on facial recognition powered by cameras integrated into a sensor bar at the top of the screen.
