iOS developer Guilherme Rambo has revealed on Wednesday that Apple's iPhone 8 smartphone might be capable of automatically silence notification sounds when the owner looks at the screen.

We already reported on the fact that iPhone 8, or whatever the name of the new iPhone model Apple will unveil next month will be, could ship with an advanced, always active facial recognition system that's capable of unlocking the device even when it's resting on a table or a desk when you are looking at the screen.

Now, the possibilities of facial recognition technology are endless, and Guilherme Rambo discovered references to the "TLAttentionAwarenessObserver" class in the HomePod firmware, which was already the source of numerous findings, including the bezel-less design of the upcoming iPhone model.

Facial recognition system can make life easier

The competition is already using iris scanning capabilities on their flagship phones, and we have all the reasons to believe that Apple is bringing a very capable facial recognition system to the next iPhone models, making, once again, out life easier.

The new facial recognition system could be dubbed "Face ID," and it might replace the old Touch ID if the latest rumors about iPhone 8's design turn out to be true and Apple finally puts the Home button to rest. The upcoming iPhone is expected to come with the latest iOS 11 mobile operating system and many new features, including wireless charging.

iPhone 8 should launch sometime next month and come in three color options, as Apple is rumored to also announce the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models, along with the 10th anniversary iPhone, and we can't wait to see what the Cupertino company has in store for iPhone fans this fall. Either way, we're getting a new iPhone soon with many cool new features!
