Concept created based on speculation regarding iPhone 8

Rumor has it that Apple is planning a major overhaul of the iPhone next year when it celebrates the 10th anniversary of the device, and one of the upgrades is likely to be an OLED display that would extend from one edge to the other of the front fascia.

While a no-bezel approach for the iPhone clearly makes sense since rivals are already doing it, Apple seems to be more inclined towards a regular OLED screen that could incorporate front-facing parts, while retaining small bezels.

And a new concept created by AppleiDesigner and posted on YouTube by TechDesigns shows a possible version of this new iPhone, imagining not only OLED, but also a curved screen.

It goes without saying that this feature is very similar to the one used by Samsung on the Galaxy S7 Edge, but the concept designer believes that such a feature would really make sense on the iPhone, although we’re not so sure Apple would agree with such an idea.

New sizes?

Just like expected, the concept envisions the traditional 4.7- and 5.5-inch displays, but at the same time, the designer also wanted to align his idea with the recent speculation, pointing out that the iPhone 8 could also come in 5.0 and 5.8-inch versions - rumor has it that Apple could offer bigger displays on the next iPhone generation, but at the same time retain almost the same dimensions by reducing bezels.

Dual-camera systems are available on all versions this time, but this is very unlikely given that Apple still wants to make some features exclusive to the Plus.

If we are to trust the rumor mill, Apple could go for a glass-based design on the iPhone 8, keeping the OLED screen exclusive to the Plus version. Expect more such rumors to see daylight in the coming months as we get closer to fall 2018 when the next iPhone is scheduled to launch, so it’s probably the best to take everything with a pinch of salt until then.
