14 DAY TRIAL // Photos that got leaked over the weekend indicated that the iPhone 7 Plus would indeed feature a dual camera, but now it turns out that there’s more to come on the bigger model of Apple’s next-generation device.
If you’re an Apple enthusiast who always keeps an eye on the leaks, you probably remember that a bunch of photos that reached the web a long time ago indicated that the iPhone 7 could borrow the Smart Connector from the iPad Pro for a new series of capabilities.
All those rumors were quickly slammed by other leaks and by people with knowledge of the matter who said that there was no way Apple could bring the Smart Connector on the iPhone 7, explaining that if there was a chance to see this happening, it could only take place on the 2017 model.
Plus model to get other exclusives too
And yet, here’s a new leak coming from China and published by PlayfulDroid, which seems to indicate that the iPhone 7 Plus launching this year will get a Smart Connector as well.
For the moment, it’s pretty impossible to tell whether this photo is fake or not, but the dual camera module seems to look exactly the same as the one we showed you during the weekend, so there’s a small chance that it’s legit. Of course, it’s still a rumor for the time being, and nothing should be taken for granted at this point.
The iPhone 7 Plus is expected to get several exclusive features, including not only the dual camera and the Smart Connector but also an all-purpose Lightning connector replacing the audio jack. Reports in this regard are still contradictory, and the most recent information coming from people who claim to be familiar with Apple’s plan indicates that the company could pick a new strategy for the iPhone 7 that would bring two 4.7-inch versions, with and without an audio jack, respectively.
The Plus, however, will only be offered in one flavor without the 3.5mm connector, but also with RAM and storage upgrades, with the top-of-the-line configuration to feature 256GB of storage.
