New information emerges on the upcoming iPhone 7

There are plenty of controversial reports out there as to whether the iPhone 7 Plus will get a dual camera configuration or not, but new photos that have reached the web today claim to set things straight in this saga.

Chinese website Showboxappdownloading (via Mobipicker) has posted images of what it claims to be the Plus version of the upcoming iPhone 7, confirming that a dual camera will indeed be offered, along with some other new features.

What’s very important to note is that we couldn’t confirm the legitimacy of these photos, so we can’t tell for sure if they’re fake or not. Still, given the fact that a Smart Connector also shows up, there’s a big chance that they are - our sources have told us that Apple is unlikely to offer a Smart Connector on the next-generation iPhone, although the company did consider such a feature at some point during development.

So besides the dual-camera setup, which is more or less a confirmed feature for the iPhone 7 Plus, there’s also the Smart Connector that could allow for new connectivity options, including external batteries and why not, a keyboard that would provide enhanced productivity.

Major battery capacity increase

Furthermore, the alleged leak also indicates that the Plus will launch with wireless charging, a feature that no iPhone has at the moment, but also with a 3,500 mAh battery for better autonomy. The current iPhone 6s Plus model comes with a battery of 2,750 mAh.

Although they are unlikely to make it to the iPhone 7 Plus, both would really make sense on the next-generation model. Previous reports hinted that Apple was working on a new wireless charging system that would allow the iPhone to charge not necessarily when standing on a plate, but when being placed in the proximity of the charger. So pundits indicated that Apple could go as far as to integrate the charger in other devices, such as the iMac, to allow for easy recharging.

The battery bump is also possible, given the fact that Apple aims for more than 1 day of battery life, but once again, keep in mind that these are all rumors and nothing should be taken for granted.
