This is the best look we've got so far at the next iPhone

Apple will take the wraps off the next iPhone in September, possibly on the 16th, and leaks keep coming now that we’re only a couple of months away from the moment when this is expected to happen.

New videos that have reached the web in the last couple of days provide us with the best look at the iPhone 7 we’ve got so far, confirming pretty much everything we already knew about the device.

These clips show the unboxing of iPhone 7 clones and dummies - what’s important to note is that Apple’s next model might not be called iPhone 7, so we’ll continue to refer to this device as the 2016 iPhone - featuring most of the changes rumored in the latest weeks, including the slightly tweaked design.

Design similar to the iPhone 6s

As you can see for yourselves, the 2016 iPhone will be very similar to the 6s and 6s Plus models and will have almost identical dimensions. Rumor has it that it could be 1mm thinner, but no confirmation in this regard has been offered so far.

The design will be largely the same, but the first thing you’ll notice is that the new antenna lines have been moved from the back to the top and bottom sides of the device. What’s awkward, however, is that Apple doesn’t seem to paint these antennas in the same color as the phone, so they’ll remain gray/white, offering what appears to be a really odd design that lacks consistency, at least at first glance.

Then, you’ll notice that the headphone jack is no longer there, as the new iPhone features two speaker grilles instead of one, and the only connectivity port is the Lightning. There’s also a larger camera on the new iPhone, which is also placed closer to the top left corner, as well as dual cameras on the Plus model.

It remains to be seen how much of these rumors is actually accurate, but the chances are that, at least in terms of design, this is the new iPhone launching in September.
