If having an iPhone capable of laying low under water for up to two days at a time is not enough for you, as the guys from iPhoneHacks have discovered, the Touch ID in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will also detect your fingerprints even when your hands are wet.

This might prove quite handy if you're trying to use your new iPhone while out in the rain, and you don't want to constantly wipe your hands dry to be able to unlock the screen.

According to iPhoneHacks' video, the new Touch ID is also a little bit faster than the ones that come with older generations of iPhones, the iPhone 5s being the one tested against in this experiment.

This is not a surprise given that the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus come with the new second-generation Touch ID fingerprint sensor that was re-redesigned by Apple to be both more reliable and way faster than the one included on the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus.

The second-generation Touch ID in the iPhone 6s is now twice as fast

According to the September 9 keynote when the new iPhone models were presented, the Touch ID sensor should be about twice as fast when having to recognize your fingerprints.

Apple provides an article on their support website detailing exactly how one can set up and use the Touch ID on their iOS devices' Home button to unlock it using their fingerprints.

Apple's support website also comes with a comprehensive description of the technology included in the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, as well as how iOS uses the Secure Enclave feature to encrypt and protect your fingerprint information so that it can only be accessed by the Touch ID sensor.
