iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sale numbers to be dwarfed

As announced by Apple in a press release, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus were made available for pre-order on their website on September 12, at 12:01 a.m. PDT, and they are on track to completely shatter last year's iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus first weekend sales records.

According to a media statement, Apple has declared that the number of iPhone 6s and 6s Plus pre-ordered via their online store has surpassed last year's record of 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets sold in the weekend following the start of the pre-order period.

If you haven't yet pre-ordered one of your own, the new iPhone models will be available in select countries around the globe via Apple's retail stores on September 25, 8 a.m. PDT, with the option to choose their carrier if buying them in the US.

The iPhone 6s Plus should be delivered in 3 to 4 weeks

As displayed in Apple's online store, the iPhone 6s will be shipped on September 25, while the iPhone 6s Plus will be sent to its new owners after three to four weeks.

This shows that either the number of pre-ordered 6s Plus devices was larger than the one of iPhone 6s or that Apple did not expect this number of iPhone flagships to be sold in such a short time, and they're waiting for their distribution channels to restock their online store.

With this statement, Apple's stock has also gotten a boost as opposed to the dip it had experienced in the last few months, and this should put any investor's mind at ease as a clear sign of better times to come.

The iPhone 6s is available for pre-order from Apple's online store in four different color finishes, with prices starting at $649, and the iPhone 6s Plus is available in the same color line, with prices starting at $749.
