14 DAY TRIAL // If you have an iPhone, chances are that it's already running iOS 9 because statistics released by Apple show that this is the fastest adopted version of the operating system it rolled out so far.
Basically, a total of 61 percent of iPhones are currently on iOS 9, which means that more than one in two devices have already been upgraded to the version the Cupertino-based company rolled out approximately one month ago.
Statistics that were provided by Apple itself and collected with the help of visits made to the App Store show that iOS 9 has managed to beat its predecessor iOS 8, in terms of early adoption figures in just 4 weeks on the market. To reach a 50 percent adoption, iOS 8 needed approximately 6 weeks, as CultOfMac notes. This means that most iOwners were eagerly awaiting iOS 9, which was supposed to fix many of the annoyances of its predecessor.
iOS 9 issues
As we explained in our iPhone 6s Plus review, even though iOS 9 is currently the number one version used by iPhone owners across the globe, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's still suffering from a handful of issues.
Some phones, for example, are experiencing a small lag with multi-tasking, while others have reported decreased battery life after upgrading to this version. iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus both come with iOS 9, so the release of the new models also helped boost its adoption.
More recently, Apple launched iOS 9.1, which again comes to fix a number of issues in 9.0, but also adds features as new emoji and access to Apple News for those who aren't living in the United States.
At the same time, it's also said to provide longer battery life and smoother performance when working with multi-tasking, and we can confirm that everything seems to run much better after installing 9.1 on both the 6 and the 6s range.
