Minimal look for iPhone home screen, no jailbreak required

It’s not a secret that iPhone customization options are kind of limited, and unless you jailbreak the device, it’s pretty difficult to make an iPhone look completely different from another one.

But fortunately, there are small bugs in iOS that are discovered every once in a while and which allow us to customize specific visual parts of the operating system, such as folders, backgrounds, or icons.

Today, redditor doctorjuniper found a way to create a customized home screen that uses a black background, no folder names, and other small tweaks that completely change the looks of an iPhone. Obviously, it’s all very subjective and while some actually like this layout, others prefer the default one even more, so it’s up to you to decide if it’s worth a try or not.

The good thing is that jailbreaking is not required since it’s all just a bug in iOS, so if you don’t like it, you can always return to the default iOS 10 looks without losing a single file.

How to get this custom home screen

Basically, it all comes down to replacing the wallpaper and renaming folders with a blank title, but you can find all instructions in the box after the jump, just like the redditor provided them. What’s important to note is that you need to align folders to the left if you want to get the same look, but you can always arrange them as you want for a more customized appearance.

Obviously, Apple can block this at any moment with a software update, and this will most likely happen in the next iOS 10 release, but the good thing is that the company has never rushed to update its operating system unless there was something critical to fix.

So for the moment, this bug is still there, and it lets you get a custom home screen, so you can turn to the instructions below to give it a try as well.
