Australians always get things ahead with their time zone

Although unofficial but very much at hand, Skylake chips aren't a new thing in Asia. Chinese leaks have been out for weeks showing incredible overclocking possibilities and internal thermal solutions.

However, the first signs of the new box art come from Australia, together with more concrete, immediate Skylake offers on eBay instead of previously available pre-orders. It seems the time zone favors the Australians almost every time.

Apparently, the CPUs available online in Australia are the only ones that will be available to the public once Intel officially announces the new CPU at Gamescom in Germany. Since the new CPU and chipset are already available to different Intel clients across Asia, it seems that the products will be in full demand and retailers will take the opportunity to overcharge them, reaching abnormal prices of $649.99 US (€592) for the Core i7-6700K and $469.99 US (€427) for the Core i5-6600K.

This is another sign that, whether you live in Australia or not, it is better to keep your money in your pockets for a while until the price drops to acceptable levels.

No more heatsinks and coolers in the CPU package

Also, the box art moved away from the traditional Intel blue design, as the company decided to go a for a more vibrant and colorful design. According to wccftech, the chip will be sold without any coolers or any other accessories, since it relies on the users to simply pick their own cooling solutions that are compatible with the LGA 1151 socket and do not need new retention Brackets from cooler makers.

Apparently, the prices will drop dramatically compared to what we are seeing now, and is only natural for this to happen, since the products will become far more available and they will rapidly lose their uniqueness after Gamescom this year. Also, leaked info shows the new CPUs coming with a three-year warranty from Intel.

The new Skylakes have improved TDP from Intel and will support DDR3L and DDR4 memory types. The DDRL will come for mini-ITX and NUCs, while more common memories will be found in the powerful Z170 and H170 motherboards.

The new Skylake-S series and Z170 will be launched by Intel at Gamescom this August.
