In the last couple of weeks, many social networking apps launched major new features on both Android and iOS platforms. Facebook added the option to upload HD videos for its Android users, while Twitter introduced a live video feature for both Android and iOS.

On the other hand, Instagram released an important update last week that added new comment-related tools, as well as the option to remove followers without them being notified that they have been removed.

But that wasn't enough for Instagram, as the company announced a new update would be rolled out to Android and iOS users, which will bring another important new feature into the mix, saved posts.

Long-time Instagram users, as well as newcomers to the app, will be pleased to know that, beginning this week, they will be able to save posts that they can read later on.

The new feature works like some sort of bookmarks, and adds these posts to a list from where you can revisit them when you have time.

In order to enable the new feature, you will have to use a new bookmark icon positioned underneath posts in the feed. To save a post on a new, private tab, you must tap on that bookmark icon.

Instagram users can save videos, as well as pictures posted on their feed. You can easily keep track of these saved posts since they are listed on your profile.

When you stumble upon a funny video you want to remember, a new outfit you like or even inspiration for an upcoming vacation, you can now keep track of favorite posts right from your profile,” explain developers in a blog post.

If you want to start saving posts, make sure you have updated to Instagram version 10.2 on your iOS or Android device. If the new Instagram update doesn't show in the App Store or Google Play yet, you should try again later.
