14 DAY TRIAL // Instagram recently rolled out an update to its Android and iOS applications, bringing new features for stickers in both Stories and Direct messaging sections. Instagram also announced that over 200 million people use Instagram Stories every day and the new features will surely make it more fun to keep up with friends.
Instagram introduced a new tool for users to turn their selfies into stickers and quickly share reactions with friends. In order to enable the feature, users simply need to take a photo or video and tap on the smiley face to open a new sticker with a camera icon and capture a min-selfie.
Fade or circle frame styles can be applied, and the stickers can be pinned anywhere, using a tool for adjusting their size. Multiple stickers can be pinned in the same videos and text can be added as well.
Moving on, Instagram added geostickers for more cities, including Chicago, London, Madrid and Tokyo. Earlier this year, Instagram added geostickers for New York City and Jakarta, and it seems that this feature has now expanded to other cities as well.
Geostickers are available in more cities
Instagram mentioned that geostickers were designed by local community members and the name of the artist is mentioned when users tap on the sticker. Aside from this, Instagram announced that it started rolling out a shortcut to the favorite stickers of users, allowing them quick access to recently used stickers.
Moreover, when users record a video using Hands-Free mode, they can view a timer that counts down to when the video begins by simply tapping and holding the button.
Instagram’s new features are incorporated in the latest 10.16 update for iOS in the App Store and 10.16.1 for Android in the Google Play Store. Recently, Instagram announced that it updated its application with the option to save live videos, but not comments, likes and the number of viewers associated to live videos.
